A Letter from Maggie

Hello, my dearest family of BlinkNow supporters,

Sitting here quarantined in our little corner of Nepal, I want you to know that your support puts a smile on my face. Along with the rest of the world, we are trying to patiently ride out the storm during this uncertain time. Today, I’m reflecting on how much our family of BlinkNow supporters means to me and the children right now. So many of you have sent personal notes, checking on the children and me, and I cannot thank you enough for your incredible support. It’s because of our global family that we were recently able to make decisions to keep our kids healthy and safe.

Earlier this month, we made the decision to end the school year early, created a food bank to provide for our student’s families, and stocked up on food and supplies for our large family at the Children’s Home. Because of our amazing family of supporters: our health workers are able to remain on call, our caregivers in the home are able to homeschool, and our children are able to read lots of books from the Kopila library and play endless hours of Monopoly.

Like many of you, we are making the most of our new reality. I’m learning how to balance leading our team around the world and also being a stay-at-home mom to over 50 active children. I make sure to plan extra time to be silly and play with the kids, and welcome their laughter in the background of conference calls. What’s helping me the most right now is focusing on gratitude—and that brings me to you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for thinking of us, for reaching out, and offering your ongoing support of our family here in Nepal.

One thing is for sure, we are one human family and we are all in this together. Your love for our small non-profit, in this corner of the world, means so much. Love to you and your family. Stay safe and know you are in our thoughts. We are forever grateful for the many ways in which our BlinkNow community continues to stand by our side and support our mission to keep Nepal’s most vulnerable children, safe, educated, and loved.

All my best and Namaste,

Maggie
