Back in the states regrouping, meeting and most importantly listening. It’s great to sit in a room of people and be able to share my journey, my excitement, my fears and know that they’re standing behind me ready and willing to help.

We had a benefit garage sale to raise money for construction. We even ended up having a lot of fun with the sale. My sister, Kate made cookies, I made a big poster, my mom made a lot of “complimentary coffee” and even bought our “team” matching t-shirts.

Construction begins and paperwork continues! This is me during the first few days of construction standing in the first pillar for the foundation. Just a few minutes after this picture was taken I was walking by one of these holes and fell in. Don’t worry, everyone saw me.

Known throughout all of Surkhet, Mimkosa Shai and Kalpana Karki are two truly amazing women. They offer me constant support and have basically been my spine and family in Nepal. You can never walk through either of their doors without expecting a hot heaping pile of food placed in front of you. And you better be hungry because you have no choice but to eat it... ALL of it!
