Some Pictures From Our Days

Sunday, October 16, 2011

Here are just a few shots from the last couple days!  We are working on lots of little projects to get ready for school starting up again and trying to keep the kids busy while they're on vacation over the next few weeks.

Grandfather made some pretty sweet homemade jump ropes for all the kids that are a big hit. Jump roping never gets old. Even when you're 24. I spent an hour trying to backwards crisscross jump yesterday.

Principal Jeff is on the search for a new stellar math teacher and is working hard on getting the classrooms and school all jazzed up over the next few weeks before we start up again.

Uncle Ed seems to have the answer to just about everything. He is a master problem-solver and I find myself going to him at least ten times a day to fix this, that or the other. My favorite quote of his that he says all the time is, "Old guys know stuff."  He says it every time he does something genius and now I started saying it too.

As for my cousin Julia, we actually just met for the first time here in Nepal.  She is from Seattle and we are technically distant, step-cousins-in-law but we like each other so much we decided we're blood related. It has been awesome having her here. I'll have to get the link to her blog and give it to you all.

The kids (and our entire household) do really well on a schedule so we've been doing our best to keep them on a loose one everyday. We have stations that they go to in the morning and afternoon to either paint, do homework, or work on a project with chores and meal time in between and satsung and a movie with grandfather at night.  It's been working out well. (Note to myself for the next time they are off for a month.)
