With the rest of the family gone for the week, it's a different place around here for sure. The compound is quiet. Meal time is quiet. We all fit together at the same table. We've been having a sleepover in my room every night. Me + the little 8, their mattresses all strewn across the floor. I'm loving it and so are they. They all fit inside scorpio, (our family jeep!) We went for an evening drive around the city today and stopped for ice cream and bought apples from Jumla. We drew pictures, watched the little mermaid and took naps. It feels a little like summer camp. In the meantime, the rest of the family is really camping up in Kalikot, the land of mud huts, beautiful mountains, subsistence farming, and cooking over the fire. I got a call this afternoon and they are all safe and well. I'm hoping they're going to get put to work harvesting a rice paddy or two. I may have put a few words in ;)
