I really enjoyed this piece by Lisa Bloom on "How to Talk to Little Girls" that my big sister Kate just sent me. I've noticed how image conscious my girls are becoming as they turn 12 and 13 and it makes me more and more aware about my language and what kind of role models myself and the men and women around me are being for them. Sometimes I feel like I still have a lot of growing up to do and that I'm not ready for them to be teenagers just yet, but the time is here whether I like it or not.
