"Lockdown has helped me to improve myself. I’ve learned so much during this lockdown. I now complete two or three books every month and practice yoga every morning, which are new habits for me. Before, I used to think I didn’t have any skills. But the quarantine period has helped me to change that perspective and know myself better. This COVID-19 has harmed the world, but it also gave us opportunities to be a better person. I’m grateful for all the learnings. But I want the pandemic situation to end soon so that everything can be back as before."

-S, a Kopila Valley student

"I sprained my leg at work two months ago. I had to be on bed-rest for a month before going on a lengthy festive holiday. When I returned to work yesterday, this little girl came running to me as soon as she saw me. Her first words were, ‘Aakriti didi, how’s your leg now?’ By that time, I had already interacted with many adults. But this was the first time someone had asked me about my sprained leg. The slightest gesture like that touched me immensely. That’s the thing about kids. They are caring, they are loving, and they are innocent. They have immense potential, but they need proper care and guidance to grow and thrive. Five years ago, when I started the caretaker position at Kopila Valley Children’s Home, I did it with confidence knowing that I would contribute to their growth and development. Now I feel that I’ve also grown with them while learning from them.. Those children have become my universe, and they mean everything to me.”
