Donor Spotlight! Meet our friend Kailash, a software engineer in Seattle:

"I first read about Maggie and her work on the back of a Doritos bag in 2011. I have been following her journey since then. The work BlinkNow does for the children of Nepal is what inspired me to make my first donation. I believe that everyone has the potential to succeed when given an opportunity. However, several factors - civil wars, illnesses, and poverty take away the most basic opportunities that many of us take for granted.

When I lived in Nepal, I saw firsthand the struggles and lack of opportunity a large number of children face. On my daily route to school -- where I would receive care, education, and safety -- I saw children my own age walking barefoot, clothed in torn garments, struggling to find scraps of food just to survive. Ever since then, I've wanted to do something to help. As an adult, when I first learned about BlinkNow and what they were doing for children in Nepal -- providing a home, food, healthcare, education, and opportunity -- I was grateful and inspired. When I got my first paid internship, I was proud to be able to start contributing to BlinkNow as a monthly donor. I've always wanted to do something for the country I was born in.

Providing everyone with the opportunity to receive an education is how I would change the world. Education gives people the knowledge and skills they need to develop themselves and their communities. It changes our perspective of the world around us. Education empowers people and helps them become more self-dependent. The only way we can attain peace and happiness at a global level is when we all start caring for others and our environment."

Sending a big thank you to our friend Kailash for his heartfelt support. Make your own impact last into 2019 by joining Kailash as a monthly supporter!
