Our library has been going through a MAJOR makeover. Thanks to all of you, we have shelves and shelves of beautiful books. Our librarian and many others have been working to create organizational systems that work for our community. There are very few libraries in Surkhet, which means we often have to get creative and find solutions that work for us!

It is so important to me that these students come to the library and learn about life outside their valley - to laugh, cry, get immersed in a mystery, traverse oceans they may never see in their lifetime - all through some pages preserved in this room.

Last week, we welcomed some very special visitors to Kopila Valley! Author Cheryl Strayed visited with her family. We kept her busy with writing workshops and "Wild" readings, and she also took over our Instagram account as a guest poster!
