Flood Relief Update

A Plea for Flood Relief

On Friday, August 15, 2014, the Surkhet region in Western Nepal experienced heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding, which continues to this day. Steady rain began Wednesday night and has continued almost without pause for 48 hours straight. The rivers in the region swelled to new widths with force, ripping through neighborhoods and taking out bridges & homes. The number of dead and missing is still unconfirmed, and most areas are completely without power.
