Shoes!!!

As you know if you've been following our blog, sports and physical activity have been a big part of Kopila these past few months. We've been participating in national badminton tournaments, volleyball games and intense soccer matches. We also held our school's first cross country run and there's nothing our family loves more than a good game of ultimate frisbee or kickball on a Saturday afternoon. Traditionally the kids have each received a pair of leather school shoes that they wear to school, but then when it comes to sporting events the kids go barefoot or wear their flip flops. Then this year while we were getting ready to order our the kids' school shoes, our principal General Dipak Gurung and our chairman Tope, had a great idea! Instead of leather shoes why don't we invest in multi-use sneakers, that the kids can wear to school with their uniforms and then also have them to play sports in.

My team is always coming up with the best ideas :)

Thanks to all your sponsorships and support we made it happen. The kids each got a durable pair of Goldstars this year to wear to and from school and to run around in. I bet the kids' cross country run times go way down. Shoes are totally a luxury item and the kids were so delighted!

Thanks to BEN for these photos :) The looks on the Kopila kids' faces are priceless. Now the little ones just need to learn how to tie them!
