Luke and Sundar wood working it!
I grew up learning how to use my hands to fix, design, and craft by working alongside my eager-teacher father, a master furniture maker. In school, I fell in love with Math and Science and eventually double majored in Mechanical Engineering and Math. I adore kids and faraway, foreign places, but most of all I love to create beautiful, practical, sustainable, and lasting things. I cannot imagine any more perfect place or project to be involved with at this point in my life, and will pour every ounce of brainpower, energy, and precision I have into making the new Kopila High School a success!
My goals are:
- To create a beautiful school that elicits pride, both interior and exterior, to its students, staff, and friends.
- To build relationships with both the kids of Kopila Valley and volunteers that will extend far beyond my time here in Nepal, however long that may end up being.
- To learn the Nepali language well enough to converse comfortably with any villager in Surkhet.
