Oh, this life and all the joys and sorrows. Nisha and Ruby met and we all burst into tears. I watched my very first walk across the stage and graduate from college (11th and 12th grade).

One day, I asked Tope what he was most proud of about Kopila Valley and he responded that “we give love and learning to people in Nepal regardless of their caste. All of the kids from different castes are living and learning together.”

A house this size can sleep up to 12 families. We crawled through the 3-foot high doors and inside the house is typically one room, with a firepit for cooking, a few pots and pans, and space for sleeping. Families are big in rural Nepal - a family of 8 sleeps in the picture here.

Oda was beautiful, peaceful, and full of the brightest smiles, warmest hearts and most hardworking people. It was an incredible experience to stay with our co-founder Tope and see where he and many of our staff and kids in the children’s home are from.
