Things are upbeat and happening around here. Spring has officially arrived. We’re all in great spirits and there’s just a ton going on around the house. Yesterday we decided to purchase two goats– A male and female we named Beatrice and Rumi. Many families in Nepal rely on goats for meat, milk, cheese, and steady income. If you buy a goat for 1000 rupees, after just a few months you can usually sell it for triple or quadruple that. I figure, why not give the children an extra responsibility and skill? We generate a ton of compost and peelings around here so we never have to worry about feeding them, plus, their manure will be great for the garden. Win win for all. It’s exciting having two new little animals around.
We’re working on getting a new totally hipped out hybrid solar connection installed in the house. (*More to come on that later!) I’ve been learning A TON!
We’re also having screen doors and windows made for the downstairs because the flies have become unbearable. There’s lots of banging and sawing going on!
Our new yoga studio/dance space/game room/ quiet, beautiful rooftop sanctuary is just about finished as well. I love the rooftop in the evenings as the sun is setting in the mountains. I sit quietly and count my blessings.
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there.”’ Rumi
