rebound!

Thanks for your support everyone from my post yesterday. It was comforting to wake up to your words this morning and I'm feeling better. This pizza with the kids and a fruit smoothie made my afternoon today. We are getting Emily's visa renewed and Anjali is done applying for her passport. (We just have to wait 2 weeks before we can receive it.) The kids and I are going shopping for some school supplies tonight and I told them they could each choose a special treat for putting up with scary MRI's and needles and the works. Here are a few photos from the week. I haven't had my camera out much and my battery died in Kalikot, but I do love going back and reflecting a little.

I'm usually not one for advertising but Fire and Ice in Thamel has the best PIZZA ever!  We devoured two of these today.

The road to Kalikot!

Dry dry paddies in Oda... waiting for rain

The final stretch of a long hike.  Stopped for water at this little hut.

Little village girls.  They kept asking me how I got so white.

Drying on stones after a swim.

Namraj's Aunt Duda showing me her new born cow, thrilled for days of milk.  We have a special bond.  She looks and reminds me so much of his mom that sometimes I imagine she is Pampa. We laughed together so much. I took this picture to show Namraj, Nani and Yugi.

Back at school...Kopila Girls!  Joining Givology for their #EducationGives campaign!

Nursery and KG teacher Saints!  Neelima, Rekha, and Bhimala

Alina Nepali inspires me

Little Nam and Me... 2 and a half baby!!!  Promise I didn't plan the matching outfits.

Libby,
Thank you for your incredible contributions to the children of Kopila Valley School as their best ever English teacher. I am sure the endless gifts and talents you shared will have an indelible impact on the lives of so many of the children at Kopila Valley Home and School! All the best in your new ventures. You will be missed by so many. Blessings.

Thankjyou for the Fire and Ice pointer. Don't worry about it. It's very helpful to those who haven't a clue, like me. I've been in touch with your favourite hotel in Khatmandu as I'll be there some time this year. I travel very lightly, so please let me know if you want anything taken over from London. I'll somehow get it to you from Kathmandu to Surkhet. I'm sure that pizza and smoothie also made the children's day.

The four little village girls are impossibly sweet.

The road to Kalikot gives me the willies. You, and the others, are Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrave.

Aunt Duda is beautiful and has the same high cheekbones as her sister.

Alina is again giving us her confident 'watch this space' smile.

Namraj is happy you're back.

Namraj and Duda have similar cheerful look and deep. Namraj can reflect himself in those eyes and recognize his origins. I like this a lot. Very, very good work Maggie.
